[ she's 19 and no one has taken the beer away from her i'm so glad. ]
Decent actors.

People have shit to get back to. And I guess the masked weirdos do too, just like us if it's to be believed. Don't know if I wanna trust them or not, but we don't have much choice, do we? Where else are we gonna go...
So their story's pretty tight across the board. Makes sense they'd coordinate it.
Wonder if we can find out more about the Mayor at least. Maybe they're the fast track... I did hear that time doesn't really move while we're here, I guess? So if you had pressing business back home...
What the hell, that blows. I mean... I guess if you're a good fighter, the defensive stuff can come in handy, but still. How do they expect us to do this dumb hero work? Idiots...
[ a sigh ]
I got some new ink out of it. But they took my Stand. Totally not worth it.
[ turning around to show him this. massive butterfly tattoo on her back. ]
Heh, thanks. At least they've got taste or whatever.
[ ace and jolyne shaking hands like what is nerfing an ability we deal with people with broken powers all the fucking time. stop being babies about our crazy powers god!!!!!!! ]
A Stand's kind of like... the manifestation of your will? Your energy? I don't really know how to describe it, but they come with all kinds of abilities. Like, mine let me unravel my body into string. [ ] Which would be way more useful here I feel. Especially 'cause I'm used to it.
Huh. Sounds a bit like a Devil Fruit ability, but it's innate? That really would be useful here. [ and then realizing she has no context for devil fruits; ] People can gain abilities back home by eating a certain kind of fruit. What ability you get depends on the fruit--I ate the Flame-Flame one, so I can control and turn into fire. Here I've only got the latter half, though.
Can't get hit while I'm fire, but can't set anything on fire. It's weird.
[ she listens pretty attentively, jolyne's a lowkey nerd, but above all else she's Gangster first. gangsters hate learning. no one can ever know. anyways ]
That's pretty cool. And... to be honest, that means you can stay fire without burning things up like buildings or whatever. Must be some kind of mechanism to make sure you don't burn the whole place down.
With Stands... it's kinda random. I got mine when I pricked my finger on a locket... but my Dad had his as long as he could remember. Some people just seem to manifest them when they need 'em most.
[ making a face at the mechanic to make sure he doesn't burn the place down because. damn. he'd like to!!!! but he looks equally fascinated by the Stand talk so he cannot call her a nerd]
Huh. Can anyone have a Stand? Or is it a genetic thing?
[ the face is funny. heh. it sucks tho :( no arson. at the question though: ]
No clue. Got mine when I hurt myself on a locket my dad gave me... and I know a few people who just suddenly got one one day... or have had one all their lives. It's weird.
So it's sort of like haki... You have to unlock it. [ sort of, since some have had them their whole lives, but look. ] Haki's just a special kind of technique, no fruit necessary.

Show's not a bad word for it. If they're telling the truth, anyway.

also it's fine they are of age somewhere probably ]
Can't say I'm a big fan of being locked into playing hero for some dinky town "or else".

Yeah, it's the "or else" always gets me. Like I'm not an asshole, I'll help, but also I don't like being told it's my only damn option.
Phoenix seems alright so far. You learn anything new or was your leader kinda cagey?
