No clue. Got mine when I hurt myself on a locket my dad gave me... and I know a few people who just suddenly got one one day... or have had one all their lives. It's weird.

So it's sort of like haki... You have to unlock it. [ sort of, since some have had them their whole lives, but look. ] Haki's just a special kind of technique, no fruit necessary.

Obviously I couldn't either, but sailing's dangerous. It's not always for everyone. And we don't really have other ways to go between islands.

Huh, interesting. Most people'd use planes where I come from if they wanna get away... but it sounds like sailing's really the only way to go where you're from.
