A Stand's kind of like... the manifestation of your will? Your energy? I don't really know how to describe it, but they come with all kinds of abilities. Like, mine let me unravel my body into string. [ :angry: ] Which would be way more useful here I feel. Especially 'cause I'm used to it.
Huh. Sounds a bit like a Devil Fruit ability, but it's innate? That really would be useful here. [ and then realizing she has no context for devil fruits; ] People can gain abilities back home by eating a certain kind of fruit. What ability you get depends on the fruit--I ate the Flame-Flame one, so I can control and turn into fire. Here I've only got the latter half, though.

That's pretty cool. And... to be honest, that means you can stay fire without burning things up like buildings or whatever. Must be some kind of mechanism to make sure you don't burn the whole place down.
With Stands... it's kinda random. I got mine when I pricked my finger on a locket... but my Dad had his as long as he could remember. Some people just seem to manifest them when they need 'em most.

No clue. Got mine when I hurt myself on a locket my dad gave me... and I know a few people who just suddenly got one one day... or have had one all their lives. It's weird.
So it's sort of like haki... You have to unlock it. [ sort of, since some have had them their whole lives, but look. ] Haki's just a special kind of technique, no fruit necessary.
Huh, interesting. Most people'd use planes where I come from if they wanna get away... but it sounds like sailing's really the only way to go where you're from.
