I really liked Adlet a lot before this, y'know? Thought he was a nice guy with a good, positive attitude, and my biggest regret last week was that we were hurting him.
So this was kind of a double whammy of finding out he wasn't what we thought he was at all and feeling kinda responsible for it 'cause he wouldn't have done this if we hadn't made the choice we did last week.
[ granted, the dude's off his rocker so he probably would have done something fucked up eventually, but. maybe it wouldn't have been whisper, and wouldn't have been so over-the-top cruel. ]
I did too. Honestly... really thought we were on the same page with everything. But after seeing him at trial, I...
[ unspoken agreement: something really isn't fucking right with that guy, and she feels bad that there were buttons pressed, switches flipped, something - but you can't take a goddamn hostage and expect people to cooperate when all they want is justice to begin wtih. ]
Man, I really liked him a lot. It sucks. I felt awful for him when Hans died, and I feel even worse now, knowing I was talking with him just before the trial, and I had no clue. It sucks.
I think we both know pretty damn well that you can't trust everyone, but... I dunno. It's just real hard to square away in this case. I wanna think at least some of that was real before.
