Maybe it feels different because we don't know where our enemy's hanging around just yet. If that was already a done deal, we'd pretty much be able to track the guy down and deal with him personally.
Though there's gotta be a clue about that too.
It isn't like we'd keep doing this without whoever's running this in charge doing everything to have it continue.
