Besides... as much as I don't like the idea that we're gonna be here for so long... it's kind of gonna be our home for the next couple months. May as well get comfortable, right?

...probably shouldn't get too comfortable, too be honest, but our best bet is to blend in right now and be on the downlow while the dust settles. After this weekend we can't take too many risks yet. Looking like we're adjusting is a good thing.

Yeah. And it probably gives a little more confidence to the people we're supposed to be saving, I guess. Like we're... integrating properly or whatever.

[ she makes a face at saying that, it definitely isn't something she plans on doing... ech. ]

Y'know, I didn't think that between the two of us, you'd end up in jail first here.

One less problem for them to worry about while their city's still in clean-up mode? Yeah, that sounds about right.

[ he's...unsure if they want to really lean too heavily into that, but he'll do what's necessary to play along and get them all out. as they're walking, she says that though and he sort of smirks in reply. ]

I expect every single one of us to end up in the slammer eventually. Hopefully for just a weekend, if that.

[ she expects that in time, their team will make the trouble it needs to make. weirdly enough they are a good combination of head-assed thinkers. ]

I just ended up there before I got here, so I've just got a real head start is all.

I have a feeling Phoenix would truly disown us if they had to keep bailing us out. [ this is not a reason not to though? it's just funny. ]

It's... a little complicated. Someone's got a pretty bad grudge when it comes to my family.

[resumed]

[ nodding along...grudges, yeah, he's familiar with those. ]

Yeah. And when you put someone in jail they're kinda like a sitting duck. Shooting fish in a barrel, so to speak.

[ he frowns briefly at that. ]

So how did you get out? You didn't stay there, right? [ he hopes. ]

Yeah, I got out eventually—took both my friend and a young kid out of there. We were able to manipulate the head guard's ability... used it to our advantage to pretty much walk out of that prison without questioning. It was tough, but... a lucky break.

[resumed]

It worked. That's all that matters, even if it wasn't conventional. [ he seems to approve of this, but it raises more questions. ] ...so what happened after that? Did you stay with your friend and that kid?

[floridas]

Yeah, Ermes and Emporio—we figured things out. Had to, really. Threatening the world and all that, who can sit in jail while that happens? That, and had to get something to my dad no matter what.

They don't make anything easy do they, hah.

[resumed]

Being caged never helps when the world's in danger. I understand. [ and honestly good for her. ] But I guess if things were easy we wouldn't be here either. For better or worse?
